George's Hot Dogs
About This Spot
From the moment you pull up to George’s Hot Dogs on Herman Hill Road, you sense something comfortably familiar yet quietly spirited is waiting inside. This is not a place of hurried meals or sterile minimalism—rather, it feels like a cherished local gathering spot where the pace slows just enough to savor simple pleasures alongside friends and family.
There’s a well-worn ease here, a rhythm shaped by countless summer visits, family traditions, and laughter echoing from the playground out back. The air carries a faint mix of fried onions and grilled patties, inviting you to settle in and soak up the lively yet unpretentious atmosphere. The casual hum of bustling orders—sometimes sent flying down a wire with a cheerful ‘bing’—adds a playful charm, making you feel part of a shared ritual rather than just a customer.
Inside, the menu reflects the neighborhood’s heartbeat: classic American eats with hints of Greek and Mexican twists woven thoughtfully throughout. Whether savoring a perfectly spiced open chicken souvlaki salad with vibrant dill dressing or enjoying a footlong hot dog piled just so, there’s a satisfying sense of generous, honest flavors designed to comfort and delight. The sides—crispy curly fries or golden onion rings—make effortless companions to these hearty bites, offering that classic crunch you didn’t know you were craving.
George’s goes beyond food to offer an experience steeped in community warmth. It’s the kind of place where families bring their kids to play just a few feet away, couples linger over large plates without rush, and longtime locals keep returning not out of habit alone, but because the spirit of the place feels like a welcome pause in a busy world. It’s a spot where every seat holds a story, and every visit feels a little like coming home.

One of my absolute favorite places! A childhood memory turned into a place I got to multiple times a summer. Their food is always so good! My favorite is the open chicken souvlaki is SO GOOD and the dill dressing is incredible you could eat it with a spoon. The onion rings and fries are great too! Everything is great! The atmosphere is something special too! Definitely something to check out!

Cute spot with lots of food options - classic, Greek, and Mexican. Curly fries were on point! Ordered the footlong hot dogs with a side of macaroni salad. All delicious! Would recommend stopping in.

I have gone to George’s every year now for a long time and it is basically a tradition to come here. I live very close to George’s and they are always packed. Their hotdog is decent just like any other hotdog around. Their big George is not nearly as big as it used to be but none the less still tasty. Their curly fries are nice and crispy just how I like them. On the downside however their prices are on the higher end and are more expensive than Tony’s,Ted’s, Nick char-laps, etc. Other than that still a great local hotdog/hamburger joint.

Great atmosphere. Great burgers. Large fries are REALLY large. They did a gluten free tortilla wrap for my wife's burger which turned out well. We saw the parking lot filled with cars and figured this must be a good spot. It didn't disappoint. Loved the order tickets that they send down a wire from the cashier to the kitchen with nice 'bing' sound. Tons of outdoor seating. There are cash only but if you really don't have any on you they can ring your card up using an iPad.

This was a great family place .Place to go and have a wonderful meal. The people there were so friendly and the food was so large. You got your money's worth there. And in the back is a playground if you have kids. Wow! It was wonderful. We had tons of fun. And full tummies.

Georges is great. I’ve been going there since I was a kid and now I bring my kids there. My dad would always talk to George. I have never been disappointed. I see people leaving bad reviews for the price. I don’t think that’s fair. They have to pay more for everything. You can’t expect them not to charge more to stay in business. The minimal price increase doesn’t bother me one bit.

Great hot dog and burger joint. In the area for over 50 years. Curly fries! Root Beer Milkshakes! Yum!
